When my husband had his physical, his doctor was concerned about my husband’s blood pressure. The doctor recommended my husband to take his blood pressure daily. Depending upon the results, the next steps could include medication. This started me exploring ways to reduce my husband’s blood pressure and avoid or reduce the number of daily medications c.
My first step was to examine the ingredients I used in my cooking. I had always considered us healthy eaters, which is until I started reading labels on the foods I was buying. What a surprise!
We began our journey to a healthier diet, one ingredient at a time. Healthy-ish living is adding and replacing a few ingredients to your favorite foods. It’s a tremendous challenge to continually deny yourself food that you crave and feel you’re on a perpetual diet. This takes away the pleasure of eating and dining in the company of others.
So, with each meal, you feel good about what you eat and more importantly how you feel. Who wants to feel guilty or sluggish after they eat? Life is a balance. You can still enjoy your favorite foods with a few adjustments and reap the pleasures of a healthy life is the essence of Healthy-ish Living.
